fishing

One of the funnest things to do that is also relaxing at the same time is fishing. A lot of people have lost the desire to go out for themselves to learn how to fish, yet fishing is something that can be very rewarding for both your belly and your excitement.

Consider removing the skin, if you caught a bottom feeder, such as a catfish. Skinning a fish definitely improves its flavor. Cut the skin behind the head and pectoral fins before pulling it with a set of pliers. The head and guts will be easier to remove once you’ve skinned the fish.

Decide what type of fish you want to catch, and match all of your equipment to this size and type of fish. For example, your hook size should be able to accommodate the average size of your “target” fish, your bait needs to be the type of bait that naturally attracts this type of fish, and wights and bobbers should be appropriate for the size of the fish and the depth at which it typically swims.

For catching bigger fish, try using smaller sized bait. This may sound odd, but the smaller bait gives you a bit of an advantage. Smaller bait allows you to have more speed when maneuvering in the water, which is needed for catching a bigger fish that is more prone to escaping.

Keep the seasons and time of day in mind when you are fishing. For example, if it is summer and quite warm, you might want to consider fishing as the sun is setting right up until it gets dark. However in the spring time it is better to fish in the afternoon when the sun has warmed up the water a bit.
